Savills Grows Asset Management Division Amid Rising Demand for Specialist Capability

Savills Australia and New Zealand has strengthened its Asset Management division with the appointment of industry leaders Ben Veale as National Head of Asset Management and Ryan Dare as State Director, Asset Management – NSW, as demand for more sophisticated asset performance strategies continues to accelerate.

The appointments follow a period of significant growth for the business, with Savills securing mandates to manage more than 120 additional properties nationally, delivering approximately 30 per cent growth across the office, industrial, retail and healthcare sectors in 2026. The platform supports a growing client base, including Mapletree, Starhill, Makris Group and Forest Endeavour. As owners increasingly seek technology-enabled insights, sustainability solutions and data-driven decision making, Savills is expanding its specialist capability to help clients maximise asset performance and secure long-term value.

Ben Veale joins Savills as National Head of Asset Management, bringing extensive experience overseeing complex property portfolios and advising institutional and private clients on performance improvement and value creation. Most recently, Ben was the Head of Asset Management Services for Victoria at Knight Frank Australia.

In his new role, Ben will lead Savills’ Asset Management division across Australia and New Zealand, focusing on technology-enabled solutions that drive building optimisation, enhance customer experience and improve asset value.

Asset management is becoming increasingly sophisticated, with owners seeking deeper insights, stronger operational outcomes and flexible strategies that respond to changing market expectations,” Ben Veale said.

The future of asset management will be shaped by how we draw on our global connectivity and effectively combine specialist talent with intelligent technology. By integrating market-leading platforms, data and AI-enabled tools, teams can make better decisions and deliver stronger outcomes for clients.

Creating value will also require a more customer-conscious approach, using data and insights to understand occupier needs and deliver workplaces that are flexible, activated and responsive. At the same time, simplifying energy management and reducing reporting complexity will help owners turn sustainability data into actionable insights that improve operational performance and long-term asset value.”

Ryan Dare joins Savills as State Director, Asset Management – NSW, further strengthening the firm’s leadership capability in Australia’s largest commercial property market. Ryan brings extensive experience across commercial asset management, property operations and client advisory, most recently as Partner, Asset Management at Knight Frank Australia.

Ryan will lead Savills’ NSW Asset Management division, working with clients to enhance operational performance, improve asset outcomes and support long-term value creation across their portfolios.

Paul Roberts, CEO, Savills Australia and New Zealand, said the appointments represent a significant investment in one of the firm’s fastest-growing service offerings.

“Asset management is increasingly at the centre of real estate value creation. Today’s owners are looking beyond traditional property management and seeking strategic partners who can unlock performance through technology, data, sustainability and operational excellence.”

“Ben and Ryan are highly respected industry leaders with proven track records advising sophisticated investors and managing complex portfolios. Their appointments significantly strengthen our national capability and position us to respond to growing client demand across all major asset classes.”

“As our clients navigate changing market conditions, occupier expectations and increasing reporting requirements, we see a significant opportunity for them to create value through a more integrated and performance-focused approach to asset management.”

The appointments form part of Savills’ broader growth strategy and further strengthen the firm’s ability to deliver integrated property solutions across Australia and New Zealand.
