Iconic Harbourfront Opportunities Now Open at Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

Botanic Gardens of Sydney is inviting hospitality operators to bring fresh food and beverage concepts to three of Sydney’s most spectacular locations within the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. 

With more than five million visitors each year, Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is one of Australia’s most visited tourism destinations, offering successful operators a rare opportunity to trade alongside the harbour, Sydney Opera House and the harbour bridge. 

The Gardens are seeking innovative, high-quality and sustainable operators for temporary food and beverage outlets at: Mrs Macquaries Point (The Point), The Cove (Yurong Gate), and Queen Elizabeth II Gate, near Sydney Opera House.

Operators can apply for one, two or all three locations and are encouraged to propose memorable concepts that enhance the visitor experience while celebrating the Garden’s unique cultural and environmental significance. Proposals must also include a First Nations offering.

The licences will be offered for an initial three-year term, with a two-year option, providing a unique platform to showcase exceptional food, coffee, and visitor experiences in one of the world’s most beautiful iconic gardens.

QEII Gate

QEII Gate (Gate J – Queen Elizabeth II Gate) is located in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, along the Farm Cove foreshore and in close proximity to the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Mrs Macquaries Point (The Point)

Mrs Macquaries Point (The Point) is a headland located in The Domain along Sydney Harbour’s southern foreshore and home to the landmark, Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. Due to its elevated vantage point, the western side of the headland boasts enviable views of Sydney Harbour, the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge and is accessible by foot, bike or car along Mrs Macquaries Road.

The Cove (Yurong Gate)

The Cove is located in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, along Farm Cove – one of the Garden’s most popular tourist walks. It benefits from stunning views across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge and is in close proximity to the Garden’s Westpac Open-Air Cinema and Handa Opera.
