Deloitte Sydney Office Wins Fitout Innovation Award

Deloitte has won the 2025 PCA Innovation & Excellence Award for Best Workplace Fitout or Design for their Quay Quarter Tower (QQT) office in Sydney, completed in March 2023.

This award recognises excellence for a workplace fitout or design project with a minimum net lettable area of 2,000 square metres. Importantly, eligible workplaces must have been in use for at least one year, demonstrating the real-world functioning of the workspace.

Deloitte’s fitout within the QQT building was nominated by MPA for its innovative design, along with a seamless blend of sustainability, function and aesthetic excellence that has created a dynamic, future- proof space to enhance collaboration and productivity.

As well as the above, Deloitte’s fitout at QQT creates excellence through:

  • Innovative, purpose-driven design. It features four interconnected ‘vertical villages’ across 14 floors, catering to diverse work styles, roles and preferences while encouraging collaboration and connectivity.
  • Landmark project in an iconic location. This project redefines how large workplaces are conceived and used, bringing clients, staff and guests together.
  • Commitment to ESG and sustainability, including 5 Star Green Star Interiors v1.3 and 5 Star NABERS energy tenancy.
  • Exceptional quality and risk management throughout the fitout, achieved within a tight timeframe.
  • Cultural and community connection. Built on Gadigal land, it includes Indigenous design elements such as a locally significant rockpool replica and fully immersive 360-degree Discovery Room for dynamic storytelling.

Deloitte Sydney Office Managing Partner Andrea Culligan said: “Our Sydney office intentionally translates our workplace strategy into a real, functioning environment with seamless, integrated technology and varied collaboration spaces that optimise in-person connection while enabling digital flexibility. Every design choice supports our teams to work in different ways, from big, bold brainstorming sessions to welcoming clients or making the most of quiet spaces. I’m very proud of the environment we’ve created for our people to come together, feel inspired and deliver meaningful impact for each other and our clients, and we are honoured to receive this award.”

Hassell Studio Principal Emily Moss said: “We designed Deloitte’s QQT office during the pandemic. It was all about creating a modern workplace where staff could actively contribute and collaborate, regardless of whether they were working in the office or at home. Our unique design sets a new benchmark for workplaces, with stunning natural light and exciting open spaces catering to diverse work styles, roles and preferences.”

MPA spokesperson, Group Executive Paul Andreatta said: “The greatest compliment a builder can receive is seeing the vision come to life. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see how this space supports the Deloitte team and meets their needs, both aesthetically and functionally. It takes years of building expertise to successfully complete a project of this scale and complexity, and I am very proud of our team for what we have accomplished together for the Deloitte team.”
