Diversified developer Pellicano has announced two new deals across its portfolio, spanning over 281sqm in total across two new retail clients at The Links in Oakleigh South – where the entire ground floor is now fully leased.
The new clients take in different parts of healthcare – a dentistry and a workspace for freelancers in the health, beauty and wellness sectors.
The continued strength of activity across Pellicano’s portfolio is reflective of the confidence business owners feel in the context of Victoria’s economic resurgence.
Both deals are for 10 years, with the largest lease of 174sqm going to Freedom Suites – an innovative company that enables freelance beauticians and wellness consultants to grow their practices on flexible terms.
The full deals schedule is as follows:
- Freedom Suites has signed a 10-year lease for a 174sqm showroom space at G05-07, The Links, Oakleigh South, negotiated directly with Pellicano
- Mary Dental Oakleigh has signed a 10-year lease for a 109sqm medical practice at G01, The Links, Oakleigh South, negotiated directly through Pellicano
Roy Morgan research released in August 2022 reveals that business confidence is up 1.1 points to 96.0 – the first monthly increase since April 2022, driven by 41.2 percent of businesses that now expect “good times” for the economy over the next five years, and 43.5 percent of business that expect to be better off financially in twelve months’ time.
The new clients join the existing Kaizen Medical Clinic, Snap Fitness on level 1, Chemist Warehouse, Woolworths, Bunnings Warehouse, and Australia Post at The Links, where a level two commercial office space is still available.
Pellicano managing director Nando Pellicano said the deals dovetail with recent deals throughout Victoria and Queensland.
“ Business confidence has started pick up around the country, according to the latest Roy Morgan figures, and we are seeing that particularly in the retail and commercial space.
“ We’re seeing suburbs like Oakleigh South remain very strong as the economy shifts post-COVID, and we’re looking forward to The Links – which is almost fully-leased – continuing to contribute to the area.
Underpinned by successes seen across its other locations in Paddington, Maroochydore, Southport, and more, Freedom Suites founder and CEO Rebecca Randle is eager to start catering to Melbourne’s south-east.
“ Oakleigh South, and the region in general, is a real hotspot for retail at the moment – and we’re really excited to deliver our product to this market,” she said.
