Lend Lease sells The Exchange at Darling Square

11 October 2019

Lend Lease has sold The Exchange at Darling Square, a Chinese group, SLLZ Development and Holdings Group, based in Australia for about $63 million.

The Exchange, called the "bird's nest" for its spiralling wood facade, was designed by the Japanese architecture firm Kengo Kuma & Associates and built by Lend Lease as part of the Darling Square precinct which replaced the old Sydney Entertainment Centre.

The building has a lettable area of 6,095sqm. A childcare facility on levels three and four will be leased to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia with the ground floor anchored by Chinese restaurant Golden Century. A City of Sydney Library and Innovation space also exists within the building on level one and two.

The sale was managed by CBRE.
