JLL Retail Investments Celebrates Double Success at REIV Awards

Tom Noonan and McDonald’s Hampton Park campaign recognised as Victorian retail investment activity strengthens

JLL’s Victorian Retail Investments team has secured two honours at the 2026 REIV Awards for Excellence, recognising individual achievement and an outstanding retail sales campaign.

Tom Noonan, Director, Retail Investments at JLL, was named Commercial Salesperson of the Year, while JLL’s McDonald’s Hampton Park campaign won C&I Marketing – Best Sales Campaign by a Large Agency. The awards were presented at Crown Palladium on 22 October.

The recognition comes amid strong investment activity across the sector. JLL Research recorded $3.2 billion of Victorian retail property transactions in the 12 months to Q3 2026, contributing to a record $16.3 billion nationally over the same period.

Stuart Taylor, Senior Director, Retail Investments at JLL, said, “Tom’s award is terrific recognition of the commitment he brings to his clients and the contribution he makes to our team. The McDonald’s campaign award is equally pleasing, recognising the work of Dominic McGrath, Romanor Falconer, MingXuan Li, Victoria Robinson and our marketing team.

“There is a great deal of work behind every campaign. We are continually looking for ways to innovate, reach the right buyers and translate that interest into stronger outcomes for our clients,” Mr Taylor added.

The McDonald’s Hampton Park campaign generated more than 800 enquiries and over 100 contract requests, attracted 33 registered bidders and achieved a yield of 2.78 per cent, the sharpest yield on record for a McDonald’s freehold investment in Australia. The result demonstrated the depth of private capital seeking long-leased retail investments backed by established occupiers.

Tom Noonan said the individual award reflected the support of his colleagues and the trust of his clients.

“It is an honour to receive this recognition. I am fortunate to work alongside a team that shares information, challenges ideas and puts a huge amount into every campaign,” Mr Noonan said. “I am particularly grateful to our clients for their trust. Understanding what matters to each owner, then staying close to the buyers throughout the process, is central to the way we work.”

The team’s recent transactions include the $117.7 million sale of Epping Home & Life and the $49 million sale of Coburns Central, the latter jointly transacted with Stonebridge. Coburns Central attracted 13 formal offers and sold at a 5.50 per cent initial yield.

“In all market conditions, a well-executed campaign is critical. Our focus is on clearly demonstrating an asset’s strengths, engaging the right buyers and creating competition to maximise the outcome for our clients,” Mr Taylor said.
