Premium FNQ 71.25ha mango and citrus orchard that provides to Coles and Woolies hits the market

In a rare opportunity, a 71.25 hectare high-income producing mango and citrus orchard in the Atherton Tablelands, that provides 90 per cent of its mangoes to Coles and Woolworths, has hit the market.

Being offered for sale through expressions of interest by Colliers Agribusiness expert Nicholas Warmington in conjunction with Prophurst Director Bram Pollock on behalf of family owned BLS Farming, the property is located at 85 Schincariol Road in Dimbulah.

Offering 8,913 quality mango and lemon trees, the high-income producing orchard is supported by irrigation totalling 220 megalitres from the Eureka Creek and excellent structural improvements across the property, including two beautiful homesteads, workshops, machinery sheds, cool room storage, and an expansive sorting and packing shed.

Colliers Agribusiness Executive Nicholas Warmington said originally a tobacco farm, the stunning property has been owned by the same family for 70 years.

“The property is strategically located in a region highly esteemed for horticulture production and high producing yields, and we are expecting a lot of buyer interest,” Nicholas Warmington said.

“Approximately 90 per cent of the mangoes harvested from the property are sold to Coles and Woolworths through market agents, with the ‘Pinnacle’ brand a regular with Coles for 10 years and Woolworths for the past 2 years.

“Renowned for its premium quality, both Coles and Woolworths hold the high-quality Pinnacle mango brand in very high regard.

“The remaining 10 per cent of mangoes are sold to high-end fruit vendors, with a portion starting to be exported into high-end markets such as Dubai and Singapore, with good results.

“This property offers an outstanding horticultural opportunity with a high-performing orchard and the chance to grow the export of these popular Australian products to high-end international markets,” Nicholas Warmington added.

With a total area of 72 hectares developed for approximately 7,080 Mango trees and 1,833 Lemon trees, current planting varieties include about 3,199 Kensington Pride trees, 3,467 Keitt trees, 414 Keo Savoy trees and 1,833 Eureka Lemon trees.

The property is located in the Mareeba Shire of Northern Queensland approximately 56km South- West of Mareeba and 119km South-West of Cairns.
