(L-R): Ingenia Lifestyle Head of Development QLD Adam Forrester, Ingenia Communities Group Area Manager Chris McBride, Bert van Manen MP, Ingenia Communities Senior Development Manager Stephanie Clark.
Ingenia Lifestyle Chambers Pines marked a huge milestone, with residents and Ingenia team members joined by Bert van Manen MP to celebrate the official sell out of its final release of homes within the Chambers Pines community.
The community, acquired in 2015, was Ingenia Lifestyle’s first over 50s community in Queensland, and has now grown to be the largest built community in Ingenia’s Queensland portfolio with 483 homes.
Ingenia Lifestyle Head of Development QLD Adam Forrester said he was thrilled to celebrate this monumental occasion with the residents of Chambers Pines.
“Chambers Pines is a very special community in the Ingenia portfolio and is now home to more than 700 hundred downsizers who came here looking for a lifestyle change,” Mr Forrester said.
“These residents have always been at the forefront of our decisions. We believe investing in and creating communities will not only accommodate an increasing demographic of older Australians, but also provide the kind of lifestyle and amenities they desire.
“Chambers Pines is a perfect example of this promise in action, and we are proud to say that as we officially sell out our last release, the community consists of 483 modern homes, with ageing in place features a priority so residents can live comfortably as they experience this new phase of life.
“Complementing these homes are the amenities and purpose built facilities we have provided based on the community’s feedback, wants and needs. Amenities aren’t just a ‘nice-to-have’ – they’re an essential part of thriving and connected neighbourhoods.
“We’ve seen proof of this at Chambers Pines with residents sharing how much they’ve enjoyed what’s on offer. Facilities such as a resort style pool, the Chambers Green and the freshly renovated Chambers Bay Clubhouse are just one of many ways our community supports connectivity and active, healthy lifestyles.
“The recently completed Chambers Green bowling pavilion also includes a bowling green, bocce and recreational area and various entertaining facilities that many residents are busy making the most of.
“We’ve also just opened The Courtyard which features a salon, library, arts and craft room, yoga studio, gym, kitchen and entertaining space. There’s truly something to be enjoyed by everyone now.”
Resident Anne and her husband Ian first moved to the Chambers Pines four years ago, after being drawn in by the friendly charm of the community.
“Since moving here we have seen significant growth in the community. It’s certainly doubled in the number of residents and the number of homes, and the diversity of the Chambers Pines has changed in a wonderful way,” Anne said.
“You’ve got people from all walks of life and different experiences coming together, it’s made it quite interesting actually, to hear so many stories and backgrounds.
“Then of course with the growth in houses has come a growth in the facilities on offer. I’m quite looking forward to the opening of the new facilities at Chambers Pines.”
When reminiscing on highlights from her time at Chambers Pines, Anne said one memory always springs to mind.
“Our very first memory here is one I share with everyone. We moved in just before Christmas and the community manager suggested we should put our name down for the Christmas function starting at 6pm,” Anne said.
“At this point, we’d been here two days and still busily unpacking. I didn’t want to be the first one there, so I said to my husband ‘let’s not go down until 10 to six’. What I didn’t realise was in these communities if somethings says start at six, people will gather at five.
“When we arrived, the place was absolutely jam packed. We stood in the doorway like deer caught in the headlights! While we were standing there debating whether to turn and walk away, one of the residents came over, introduced himself and invited us to sit with his wife at their table.
“That memory really sticks with me and just shows how welcoming and accepting the residents of Chambers Pines are.”
Anne said the community is one she is proud to share with her family when they come to visit.
“The grandkids absolutely love visiting here. They really enjoy the pool and we’ve booked the facilities for family get togethers which has been very well received,” Anne said.
“I think the grandkids love that people here actually know their name and it makes them feel so special. When they’re walking around with us, people will stop to say hello to them and use their name and are genuinely happy to have a chat with them.”
Following the initial success Chambers Pines, Ingenia has now created six other communities at various locations around Queensland especially for those looking for a new home built with ageing in place and connectivity in mind.
