Australia’s largest franchise builder has doubled down on its investment in the regions south of Sydney, adding a new business to its already strong local portfolio in a clear sign of its confidence in the regional coastal market.

Owned and operated by Directors Sean Vickery and Nathan Fay, the new Southern Highlands location marked the third G.J. Gardner Homes franchise for the duo – following franchises in Shoalhaven and Wollongong, and an office in Wilton-Appin.

G.J. Gardner Homes Chief Executive Officer Trent Gardner said the expansion in the Illawarra, Wollondilly and Southern Highlands regions south of Sydney matched predicted population growth in these areas and a steady demand from buyers seeking a quality customisable home delivered by a locally owned and operated team.

“It is fantastic to see our franchise owners thrive with the support of our business model, which allows owners the unique opportunity to benefit from the backing of a well-known builder and to expand their operations under the G.J. Gardner name,” Mr Gardner said.

“NSW buyers are opting to explore housing options outside of major metropolitan areas, where access to new and custom-built homes is greatly restricted by the tightly held ownership of existing homes that has contributed to competitive and unattainable property markets.

“The next 20 years will be a time of great growth and development for the once regional areas south of Sydney, with improvements to accessibility and connectivity set to make these suburbs a first choice for Sydneysiders looking to relocate away from their busy city lifestyle.”

To match the expected population influx of more than 50,000 in the Wollondilly region by 20411, the Wilton community is set to deliver 15,000 new jobs and homes by 20402, and the Wollongong area targeted to deliver 9,200 new homes by just 20293.

Mr Vickery said the success of their existing businesses and the expected growth still to come for the regions spurred the duo towards expanding their franchise operations and establishing themselves as the first-choice builder in the area.

“For us, it’s about growing with the communities we’re part of, and having the support, systems and credibility of G.J. Gardner behind us has been a real game-changer – It’s given us the backing we need to keep pushing into new areas and helping more families build their future,” Mr Vickery said.

“There’s no doubt more people are chasing a better lifestyle outside of the city these days – it’s opened up huge opportunities in places like the Southern Highlands and Wilton-Appin, and it’s great to be able to help people take that next step with a new home.

“Most of our passionate team are locals who really care about the homes we build – that’s what makes the difference – we’re not just building houses; we’re helping shape the places we all live in.

“The growth we’re seeing is just the beginning, with more families moving in and more investment coming through, it’s a great time to be building and a great time to be part of these growing communities.”

Offices under the leadership of directors Sean Vickery and Nathan Fay have received more than 60 industry awards for excellence, been named G.J. Gardner NSW Franchise of the Year six times, and have raised more than $3 million for local charities.
