A well-known hospitality operator is set to open a second location in Townsville after committing to lease a prominent waterfront retail space.
Spirited Goat Pty Ltd will occupy 217sqm on the ground floor of 62 The Strand in Townsville after signing a five-year lease with two five-year options.
Knight Frank agents Paul Dury and Mark Fitzgerald negotiated the off-market deal on behalf of the landlord, Black Snow Investments Pty Ltd.
The space will give The Spirited Goat a second location in addition to its existing one at Village Drive in Idalia.
The Spirited Goat owner, Don Peel, said the cafĂ© had decided to open in a second location after being presented with âan extraordinary opportunityâ to occupy the space at The Strand.
âTownsville’s Strand is iconic in northern Queensland, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to put our best foot forward for Townsville locals and visitors,â he said.
âThis particular retail space has an extraordinary aspect over to Magnetic Island with a beautiful grass area that we hope to activate with customers enjoying great coffee.
âWe’re hoping to create a beautiful beach platform for our talented chefs, baristas and team to expand upon the wonderful creations they serve up at Idalia.â

Mr Dury said the location of 62 The Strand was the biggest drawcard of the space for the tenant.
âThe Strand is a prime prominent position in Townsville, on the waterfront and with plenty of passing traffic,â he said.
âQuality food retailers are still looking for strategic locations with high foot traffic. Retail tenancies on the Strand are very rare, so when they become available, they attract good interest and can demand high rents.
âThe space leased to The Spirited Goat was the last remaining retail vacancy along The Strand, with no vacancies left now.â
