Wentworth Equities Moves First in Hamilton – Turns the Sod on $1.2B Hamilton Grove

The residential construction boom in Brisbane’s riverside suburb Hamilton has officially commenced with luxury developer Wentworth Equities turning the dirt on its $1.2B Hamilton Grove lifestyle precinct.

Member for Clayfield and Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Hon Timothy (Tim) Nicholls and Hamilton Ward Councillor Julia Dixon will take up the ceremonial gold shovel to mark the occasion alongside VIP guests.

Inspired by The Grove in Los Angeles, Hamilton Grove will deliver three prestige residential towers of 292 apartments, a 196 room 5-star hotel, premium 3000m2 of prime retail space, and a vibrant public precinct within a 7,639 square metre site within Economic Development Queensland’s 304-hectare Northshore Hamilton Priority Development area.

Hamilton Grove is leading the market activity in Hamilton, with recent announcements of new large site releases and development proposals within Hamilton Northshore amounting to a multi-billion dollar forward pipeline.

The Queensland Government is investing $154 million in infrastructure development to support growth in the Hamilton Northshore PDAi which is projected to inject more than $14B into the Queensland economy once completedii.

Wentworth Equities Executive Chairman Sameh Ibrahim said the sod turn will be a landmark moment for not only his project but also the precinct.

“We couldn’t be more excited to officially be putting shovel to soil at Hamilton Grove,” Mr Ibrahim said.

“We’ve held this site for 14 years and to turn dirt is a momentous milestone, following years of meticulous planning for how we could bring a precinct of such calibre to life in Brisbane.”

Having shown his support for the project by lending a hand to shovel the first sod, Member for Clayfield and Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Hon Timothy (Tim) Nicholls said the development will be a tremendous addition to Brisbane.

“This impressive development, including a 5-star hotel, will be a tremendous addition to Brisbane ahead of the 2032 Games, and beyond,” Tim Nicholls MP said.

Contractor Mainland Civil is now on site, adding Hamilton Grove to their extensive portfolio alongside iconic Brisbane developments including Queens Wharf, 300 George Street, Infinity Tower and 1 William Street.

“The significance of this development is historic, which means that our vision for design and delivery has had to be infallible. It has been tremendous to bring together teams from Wentworth Equities, Property Development Systems, Urbis, Fuse Architects, Coposit, Bornhorst + Ward, Bennett & Bennett to lend their expertise to this legacy project,” Mr Ibrahim said.

“It’s very easy to say that a development will set a new standard but in the case of Hamilton Grove we truly will do just that.

“We have reimagined the concept of apartment living to design residences that offer the space, comfort and character that could previously only be found in a suburban home.

“Hamilton Grove buyers are embracing the concept of true homes in the sky, not simply apartments as we’ve always known them.”

Hamilton Grove launched in April and penthouses and high-level apartments in the first of three towers were quickly snapped up. Planning is well underway for future stages and a 5-star hotel.

Such is the success of Tower One that Wentworth Equities expects to release sales for Tower Two in coming months.

“Though the precinct and hotel will ensure that Hamilton Grove has something to be explored by visitors from across the city and beyond, the centrepiece of the development will be the sky homes, which will introduce a new echelon of luxury living not yet seen in the Brisbane market.”

The 61 sky homes in the first of Hamilton Grove’s three towers are selling now, with residences ranging from two to five bedrooms spanning up to 329m2, exceeding the average square meterage of new homes built in Queensland by 45 per centiii, and more than doubling the average floor area of new apartments built in Queenslandiv.
