Vicinity begins construction on contemporary office suites, the first step in Bayside’s mixed-use transformation

16 December 2022

Vicinity today announced its vision to transform Bayside, Victoria into the Mornington Peninsula’s lifestyle destination, connecting retail, business and leisure, with construction now underway on the first stage of the development.

Capitalising on Victoria’s rapidly growing Frankston region and the centre’s existing transport links, the new workspace hub on level two will position Bayside as a contemporary destination, redefining the area’s business district with modern workspace solutions and a vibrant retail mix.

In support of the growing ‘work near home’ movement, more than 3,500 sqm will be reimagined as contemporary workspaces on level two of the centre, leveraging the retail and dining options at its doorstep. The office suites will deliver modern office space, with glazed panels to optimise natural light and a new office lobby, seamlessly bringing together a superior workspace and retail experience.

A new coworking space is visioned to follow, providing a range of state-of-the-art office facilities including individual desks, offices, private meeting rooms and event space.

Part of the overall mixed-use masterplan for Bayside is the delivery of 12 Balmoral Walk, an eight-storey commercial tower, with approximately 14,000 sqm office supported by ground floor dining and retail spaces.

Additionally, growth trends and customer insights guided a retail reconfiguration which will deliver elevated homewares, athleisure and aspirational fashion as well as a recharged entertainment, leisure and dining offering complete with outdoor dining and activated laneways.

Truman Dare General Manager Mixed Use Development said, “The Frankston community is evolving, and we’re delighted to embark on the biggest transformation Bayside has seen, to soon reveal a contemporary place to work, shop and play that is curated for the community we’ve served for 50 years.”

“With cutting-edge office amenities, the convenience of our retail and dining offering at its doorstep and even views of the bay, we’re excited to bring these stunning workspaces to Bayside as part of our mixed-use transformation.

“Creating an elevated experience for customers today and into the future is at the heart of these projects, and whether it’s the activated laneways, easier to navigate retail precincts or the modern workspaces, we’re excited to revitalise the Frankston CBD and reaffirm Bayside as the Mornington Peninsula’s lifestyle destination.”
