Townsville’s Waterfront Venue Rockpool Pavilion Available for Sale or Lease

Townsville’s premier waterfront venue, Rockpool Pavilion, has hit the market, with the owner looking for offers to buy or lease.

The 613sq m property, located on Townsville’s iconic Strand foreshore overlooking Magnetic Island and Cleveland Bay at 54 Howitt Street in North Ward operates as a restaurant and bar, as well as a functions and events venue.

It is positioned in a vibrant, family-friendly hub right next to the iconic Townsville’s Rockpool and historic Jezzine Barracks.

The Rockpool Pavilion is being taken to the market via an Expressions of Interest campaign run by Glen Cummins and Mark Fitzgerald on behalf of the vendor, Townsville-based hospitality group, FGH Group.

The campaign will offer flexible purchase or lease options to interested parties. Those interested in buying can own the leasehold and take full control of the iconic property and hospitality asset, while the leasing option provides a fantastic opportunity for an experienced operator to step into a high-profile venue without the overheads associated with ownership.

The Rockpool Pavilion is fully operational and ready to trade.

Mr Cummins said the Rockpool Pavilion was a landmark hospitality venue in Townsville.

“It presents a rare chance for an experienced operator, hospitality entrepreneur or lifestyle investor to take the reins of a fully equipped, high-potential iconic venue in one of North Queensland’s most sought-after coastal locations,” he said.

“Passionate owner-operators can use this venue to create their own concept or build on an existing foundation, and make their mark on Townsville’s premier dining strip.”

Mr Fitzgerald said the property would benefit from thriving tourism in Townsville, which has more than 1.3 million overnight visitors each year.

“Being in such an iconic location, the Rockpool Pavilion has strong patronage from tourists, as well as locals,” he said.

“Uninterrupted ocean views across Cleveland Bay to Magnetic Island provide the ultimate backdrop for any dining experience.

“The venue also has the potential for an increase in seating capacity from 200 to 300, which would lead to revenue growth.”
