Blue-chip The Parade in Norwood is retaining its premier status among Adelaide’s shopping strips in 2026, with three leases secured in quick succession across a range of retail sub-sectors bringing it to nearly full occupancy.
McGees Property negotiated the leasing deals along the inner-city strip, with each deal showing strong rental growth of as much as over 20% for the respective landlords.
Showcasing the attraction of the strip, the deals were leased to tenants in each of the food and beverage, service retail and specialty retail sectors.
The new tenants are self-serve frozen yoghurt and açai outlet Yo-Bar, in the latest step of its national expansion, at Shop 1/200 The Parade; skin clinic Skin by Monica will open at Shops 4 & 5/200 The Parade; while baby products store The Memo has taken 140 The Parade.
Prime shops along The Parade are currently commanding rental rates of in excess of $1,500 per sqm.
“The Parade, Norwood has upheld its reputation as Adelaide’s premier retail strip,” said McGees Property Partner Craig Feely.
“It’s remained a high-performing, desirable location for tenants even in the face of stiff competition from the recently-opened Burnside Village offering nearby.
“The Parade services a loyal affluent and established catchment, and the recent introductions of the new Coles supermarket-anchored, 84-apartment Como development along with the 65-apartment Orta On the Parade complex have strengthened the strip, boosting the immediate catchment of shoppers and diners.
“The leasing activity we’ve seen on The Parade over summer is a fantastic sign for the strip in 2026, and it is the benchmark example for what’s happening throughout Adelaide’s suburban retail strip landscape.”
Feely said McGees Property’s leasing team had been generating interest on The Parade from national tenants and quality local operators across a range of retail sub-sectors.
“It’s great to see that national operator The Memo has made the considered decision to select The Parade, Norwood for its first bricks and mortar presence in Adelaide and South Australia,” Feely added.
Reflected in the very strong outcomes for landlords on The Parade, McGees Property has South Australia’s largest and most experienced retail leasing team, comprising Craig Feely, Tim Pozza, Dallas Sears, Hamish Pettigrew and Stella Iannace, who have a combined 65 years of experience.
