Sovereign Park residential development given green light to support Newcastle’s growing community

Development Application approval was granted for Sovereign Park’s 166 apartments and townhomes to support the growing Newcastle population, which is set to grow from 41,150 residents to 202,050 by 2041, stimulating demand for almost 20,000 new dwellings, according to the City of Newcastle.

The new development by Stronach Property offers a range of one to three bedroom apartments and four bedroom townhomes designed by award winning Marchese Architects, for a luxury inner-city lifestyle in Newcastle’s dress circle location at 11-17 Mosbri Crescent, The Hill. Pricing starting from $599,950.

The residences, ranging from 55 square metres to 208 square metres, are spacious, light filled, impeccably appointed and incorporate elegant and contemporary finishes and inclusions. There will be recreational facilities including a rooftop swimming pool with expansive views from The Hill over the city, a rooftop lounge and dining area, a beautifully-appointed residents’ garden pavilion with outdoor dining areas, state-of-the-art outdoor recreational gym and extensive private landscaped gardens designed by award winning landscape architects Arcadia.

Sovereign Park is a short walk to Darby Street and the East End of Newcastle with boutique hotels, restaurants, bars and shopping. The stunning Newcastle beaches and harbour foreshore are also an easy walk, located less than a kilometre away.

Keith Stronach said interest in Sovereign Park has been very strong given the ideal location of the project. “The site is surrounded by some of Newcastle’s most iconic landmarks including Darby Street, King Edward Park, the Bogey Hole, Memorial Walk and the much loved Obelisk. We are very excited with the development approval as we can start the revitalisation of the site and breathe fresh life into one of Newcastle’s most sought after suburbs”

Sovereign Park residences are exclusively listed with Ed Crawford of Colliers.

“The Newcastle inner city and CBD fringe market remains firm in the current market, with demand supported by strong relative affordability, a highly desirable lifestyle offering, and an attractive range of residential projects.” Mr Crawford said.

“As the capital of the biggest regional economy in Australia, and only 90 minutes from Hornsby, Newcastle is the favoured destination for people exiting congested metropolitan locations, or seeking work-from-home/work life balance.”

“Major urban renewal and regeneration driven by both Government and private sector investment has transformed inner Newcastle into one of the most attractive and desirable locations in Australia.”

Sovereign Park will be the latest in the list of world-class developments by Stronach Property including Merewether Surf House, Arena Apartments on Newcastle Beach and the Herald Apartments in Newcastle East. The Stronach business is a brand that has grown with the people of Newcastle and the Hunter region for nearly 100 years (founded in 1923).
