Smith Family Sell Villawood Asset19 January 2020
The Smith Family have sold their Villawood to CSR Building Products for $18.9M.
The 3.1ha property at 2 Birmingham Ave is used by the Smith Family as their primary clothing recycling centre in Sydney. The site is near to the Western Sydney goods line and the Leightonfield Train Station.
Villawood has become a prime logistic centre being near to the Centre of Sydney with good access to the M4, and M5 tollways. In early 2019, LOGOS unveiled a deal to buy a 15.3 ha development site from Toll Group to be transformed into a $200 million industrial and logistics estate.
Both CSR and the Smith Family haven't made any comments on the transaction which settled on the 16th January. It is unclear whether the Smith Family will relocate from the site, however this is likely given that CSR is traditionally an owner occupier.
