Pellicano to Complete $250m Oakleigh South Retail Precinct with BTR Stage

2 March 2023

Diversified developer Pellicano is set to complete its $250 million mixed-use hub The Links in Oakleigh South, with plans greenlit for the third and final stage – which includes the build-to-rent Fieldworks House.

The next instalment of The Links will deliver a major boon to the local economy, bringing 3,000sqm of new ground-floor retail and hospitality opportunities – as well as provision for a second supermarket to join the existing network of retailers, which includes Woolworths, BWS, Bunnings Warehouse, Snap Fitness, Chemist Warehouse and a medical hub.

Sitting atop of the retail component, Fieldworks House will add to the Pellicano Living banner – delivering 166 residences spanning 1, 2 and 3-bedroom options plus the signature mix of hotel-style amenities with community-focused living.

Designed by architects i2C, Fieldworks House will embody Pellicano Living’s goal of offering premium lifestyle amenities in sought-after locations; its first floor will include a communal landscaped park and lawn, while shared rooftop spaces and alfresco dining areas will also be available for residents to enjoy.

Delivering a bustling retail precinct alongside a diverse mix of build-to-rent housing – in a popular locale such as Oakleigh South – speaks to the overarching goal of Pellicano Living, says managing director Nando Pellicano.

“ We set out to create a new retail hub for Oakleigh South with The Links – our tenant mix, including a number of blue chip operators and our location have made it a popular choice among leading retailer brands.

“ The Pellicano Living ethos is centred around creating a lifestyle for our residential clients – our projects mix retail with high-quality residences and hotel-style amenity in well-connected locations. This delivers reliable foot traffic for operators and convenience for future residents.

“ With plans now approved, we expect to break ground on the Fieldworks House site later in 2023,” he said.

Elsewhere across Pellicano’s portfolio, works have recently completed on both Solarino House in Brunswick and Perry House in Bowen Hills, Queensland, bringing Pellicano’s BTR apartments now operational to over 350.

A further 400 are currently in construction – including the 110-residence Berwick House in Fortitude Valley, the 150-residence Hillyard House, Woolloongabba and the 86-residence Story House, Kangaroo Point.

Pellicano’s experience in mixed-use precincts has also seen it continue to transform Brisbane’s Woolloongabba into a retail, dining and event destination through the city-shaping $750 million South/City/SQ.
