Mulpha Unveils Norwest Quarter

A new era of sustainable retail is taking shape in Sydney’s Hills District, with Mulpha Australia unveiling the first wave of retail tenants for its landmark zero-carboni residential and retail precinct, Norwest Quarter.

The 3,500-square-metre retail precinct, spread across three levels at the first two apartment towers in Norwest Quarter, will deliver a diverse mix of health, wellness and lifestyle operators, anchored by Evolve Health Club, a full-floor commercial gym, and The Growers, a fresh food supermarket with in-house bakery, delicatessen, cheeses, premium wine shop, florist and Bánh mì shop.

Pichon Cafe; ANVAYA Kitchen and ANVAYA Head Spa + Beauty; and Good Graces Café are among 15 specialty retailers who will also commence trading in the first half of 2026.

Norwest Quarter is leading the charge in sustainable urban design, where retail tenants have committed to implementing environmental initiatives during the lease. These initiatives include reducing energy demand, using 100% GreenPower renewable energy, adopting efficient water management practices, selecting low- or zero-carbon and low-VOC materials, aiming for zero operational waste, processing organic waste on-site in the central facility, and using the on-site e-water system to produce circular cleaning products.

Norwest Quarter is one of the first all-electric mixed-use precincts in Australia.ii

“Australian consumers are increasingly aware of the environmental footprint of their purchases,” said Andrew Nichols, Director NSW Development at Mulpha, “We’re creating a precinct that doesn’t just serve a community but helps to shape a better future by championing sustainable, conscious retail.

“Mulpha recognises the critical role retail operators play in creating a socially connected community and taking Norwest Quarter to a new level. To help make the most of this opportunity, we have created a variety of spaces that cater to all seasons and both day and night opportunities”.

The precinct has been designed as a walkable, bike-friendly village with seamless access to amenities, green spaces, and public transport, supporting both wellness and convenience.

“We’ve reimagined what a suburban retail precinct can be,” said Andrew Nichols. “This is more than bricks and mortar, it is about building a connected community where people, planet, purpose come together.”

Leading the precinct’s wellness offering is Evolve Health Club, a family-owned fitness brand founded by entrepreneur Sam Nour.

“At Evolve, our goal is to create more than just a gym, we are building a space where people can truly feel part of a community while prioritising their health, wellness and personal growth.”

Evolve Health Clubs will feature a state-of-the-art gym floor, three dedicated studios for yoga, reformer Pilates, and group fitness, as well as a recovery zone with infrared saunas, contrast therapy, and massage chairs.

“Norwest Quarter is the perfect home for Evolve Health Club,” Sam said. “With its strong focus on sustainability, lifestyle, and community connection, the precinct aligns perfectly with our philosophy of holistic wellness and healthy living.

Alongside Evolve Head Club, Andy Huynh and Mokhtar Sutarji, co-owners of The Growers will bring their award-winning approach to fresh food retailing to Norwest in the first half of 2026. Recipients of the Best Fruit and Vegetable Shop at the Northern District Business Awards in 2021, 2022, and 2024, their Growers brand has become synonymous with premium quality, freshness and exceptional customer service.

The new one-stop supermarket destination in Norwest location will offer a comprehensive range of fresh produce, gourmet cheeses, deli goods and organic products, premium wines, artisan bakery goods, Bánh mì Vietnamese rolls and bespoke international products.  It will also feature a florist and offer a selection of wholesome, home-cooked ready-to-eat meals, catering to the needs of time-poor residents and office and hospital workers seeking quality and convenience.

“At The Growers in Norwest, we are excited about building a community,” said Andy Huynh. “We want to create a welcoming environment where customers feel connected to the people behind the food, and where quality and sustainability are at the heart of every experience.

“Norwest has such a strong sense of community and an appetite for quality, sustainable food. We’re excited to become part of that energy, to offer locals a place where they can shop, meet, and feel good about what they’re bringing home.”

Positioned in the heart of Sydney’s rapidly expanding Norwest area, the first stage of Norwest Quarter includes two residential towers, Banksia and Lacebark, comprising 181 apartments across a beautifully landscaped 9,450 sqm site. Current plans anticipate 864 apartments across eight residential towers, with housing for more than 2,000 residents and 70% of the 3.8-hectare site reserved for open green space, 6,000m² of lifestyle amenities including cafes, restaurants, neighbourhood shops and other essential services.
