Mirvac has advanced its plans for the exciting next stage of its Ascot Green community alongside Eagle Farm Racecourse in Brisbane.
This comes after the final apartment was snapped up in its second building, Tulloch House, this week following $18 million in sales since the start of the year.
The publicly-listed property group has been fielding such strong enquiry for the sought-after community, located in the blue-chip suburb of Ascot, it has started taking registrations of interest ahead of the launch of the third building, anticipated for late 2021 or early 2022.
The 84 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and luxury penthouses in Tulloch House sold for between $450,000 to over $2 million. The apartments feature panoramic views north across the 50 hectare green space of the heritage racecourse and expansive views to the Brisbane city skyline to the south.
The sales have been achieved off-the-plan, with construction of the eight-level building yet to be completed. The structure has recently ‘topped out’ with work now being finalised on the interior joinery fit-out, balconies and the expansive roof terrace. Mirvac is expecting to welcome its new residents to their new apartments late this year(2021).
Ascot Green is part of Brisbane Racing Club’s $1.2 billion masterplan redevelopment of Eagle Farm, to include luxury apartments, commercial offices, dining, services and a range of entertainment options.
Mirvac Head of Residential Stuart Penklis said its reputation as a highly desirable place to live had driven demand for the final apartments in Tulloch House.
“While all Tulloch House apartments have now been secured, we have continued to field interest from those wanting a place in the community, prompting us to expedite the timeline for our next chapter of Ascot Green,” he said.
“We are in the design phase and working to bring this release to the market as soon as possible. While the finer details are being finalised, it will follow in the footsteps of our first two stages, Ascot House and Tulloch House, delivering high quality apartments to this one-of-a-kind location.”
Tania and Paul Dalla Vecchia were among the final purchasers at Tulloch House, buying a two bedroom and two bathroom apartment with city views.
The couple gives new meaning to the term ‘downsizing’, relocating to Brisbane from a 180 acre cane farm in Innisfail, which they called home for more than 50 years.
“We’ve been living in an apartment at South Bank since moving to Brisbane a year ago and were going to buy a house, but with our two children out of home decided the lifestyle an apartment offers, with no mowing and practically no housework, better suited us,” said Mrs Dalla Vecchia.
“It is extremely different from farm life, but my husband is a racing man and being close to the track was appealing, as was the quiet location. We have the racecourse on one side and are still within the Eagle Farm precinct, and away from traffic, on the other. It is a beautiful position in a nice area.”
Mrs Dalla Vecchia said the couple ‘fell in love’ with the 700sqm rooftop terrace, which will feature a 180 degree view from east to west across the racecourse, along with a turfed yoga lawn, barbeque facilities and casual seating, complementing a ground level pool which overlooks the track.
“The corner apartment we bought suits us perfectly, so it really felt like it was meant to be. We love the openness of the design, with the kitchen looking out to the view and the bedrooms separated, so if we have friends stay they will have their own bedroom and bathroom,” she said.
Mr Penklis said, the rare opportunity to live close to the Brisbane CBD and next to 50 hectares of green open space appealed to buyers like the Dalla Vecchias.
