17 February 2022

Meriton has acquired a residential site in Rhodes which is destined to become home to a new series of high rise apartments.

The site which is bounded by Concord Rd, Llewellyn St and Blaxland Rd is 5,485sqm in size and will have a capacity for a 29 storey mixed use building.

Meriton have paid $85m for the site in 4 separate deals which settled in early February.

The site was rezoned in October 2021 following the finalisation of the Rhodes Place Strategy which aims to deliver 4,200 new homes across the peninsula, with an initial cap of 3,000 homes until further infrastructure is provided. The precinct will be supported by upgraded infrastructure including a new primary school, upgrades to Rhodes train station, a new ferry wharf, 2.3 hectares of new public open space including a foreshore park and promenade on the Parramatta River.

Meriton have previously developed several towers on the western side of the Rhodes Peninsula (pictured).
