Knight Frank has expanded its retail leasing presence in Melbourne with two new appointments.
Michael Di Carlo has joined the firm in the role of Director, Retail Leasing, while Marie Formica has also joined in the role of Retail Leasing & Projects Coordinator.
Both have moved to Knight Frank from Cushman and Wakefield.
They will join Knight Frank Partner, Leasing, Gary Loo, who has been at Knight Frank for more than 25 years, to continue building on the firm’s extensive private and institutional client base.
Michael has more than 22 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, with previous roles at Cushman and Wakefield, Savills and CBRE.
He was previously responsible for many landmark CBD retail leasing deals throughout the city’s thoroughfares, including national and global brands.
Knight Frank Managing Director Victoria Dominic Long said he was excited to announce the growth of Knight Frank’s Melbourne team.
“Gary Loo’s deep market knowledge, enduring client relationships and consistent delivery of outstanding results have made him a key figure in Melbourne’s retail property landscape,” he said.
“The addition of Michael and Marie sees the creation of a high-calibre retail team focused on delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.
“Michael is widely recognised as one of Melbourne’s most active and successful retail leasing agents, and will strengthen the retail team with his extensive industry network and a proven track record in securing high-profile CBD retail sites.
“Marie will play a pivotal role in enhancing the team’s delivery and strategic capabilities. With extensive operational and transactional expertise, Marie ensures seamless execution across projects while bringing a sharp strategic lens to every transaction.”
Mr Di Carlo said he was thrilled to be joining Knight Frank, along with Marie, to build a stronger, expanded retail team.
“We will be focused on delivering value and satisfaction to both landlords and tenants,” he said.
“In addition to leasing space in Melbourne’s retail market, we will also provide clients with retail project leasing, marketing and retail strategy development, and implementation services.
“Melbourne’s retail leasing market has seen a long-awaited resurgence with improved shopper traffic, higher levels of domestic and international tourists and the introduction of many global hospitality and retail brands, particularly in the CBD.
“We are confident that this trend will continue in the next year ahead.”
