JLL Expands Advisory & Asset Management

The appointment of Wesley Milsom to build on the firm’s existing leadership in strategic advisory and asset management space in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

JLL’s (NYSE: JLL) Hotels & Hospitality Group today announced an expansion of its broader Advisory & Asset Management platform in Australia and New Zealand to meet evolving client demands.

Effective immediately, Wesley Milsom will assume the role of Executive Vice President, Asset Management & Strategic Advisory, Australia and New Zealand. For JLL, he will be responsible for leading numerous key asset management mandates, operator selection transactions, and strategic advisory assignments across these two priority markets. He will also draw on his broad experience in the surrounding Pacific region to expand JLL’s existing coverage of island markets. He is based in Sydney and reports to Xander Nijnens, Head of Advisory & Asset Management, JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group, Asia Pacific.

Wesley joins JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group from Salter Brothers, one of Australia’s leading alternative investment managers with a focus on specialist property, where he was a portfolio manager for its retreat resort assets across Australia. For Salter Brothers, he was previously senior manager capital transactions. To JLL he also brings experience from Elanor Investor Group where he was responsible for overseeing asset management. In total, he has over 20 years of expertise in a variety of hotels and real estate advisory capacities.

“The maturity of the Australian and New Zealand hotel market is mirrored by demands for new asset management and advisory solutions to optimize the performance of assets. JLL has long set the benchmark in these markets and with Wesley’s arrival we are extremely confident in building on our well-established leadership and depth of relationships in Australia and New Zealand’s evolving hotel economy,” says Nijnens.

Wesley will work closely with Ross Beardsell, Executive Vice President, Hotels, Australia, to support our existing clients and lead key initiatives, leveraging his deep experience in hotel asset management and operations over the past 18 years for JLL.

To further support the growth of this strategic business, JLL has also welcomed Tom Smeed as an Associate within its Australia and New Zealand asset management and strategic advisory business. He joins JLL from the Prosper Group, where he was an analyst and brings additional hotel valuations and research experience from Colliers in New Zealand and the Pacific.
