Armstrong Creek project Harriott forges ahead

As property buyers respond to improving market conditions, developer Jinding has commenced construction on the first 45 townhomes, within its 164 townhomes precinct in Armstrong Creek.

The townhomes at Jinding’s Harriott community have experienced a boost in sales activity since February when interest rates were cut, reporting one of the busiest transaction periods in almost 12 months.

Construction on civils will now commence, with local contractor Wellam appointed to complete the works.

The townhomes span two, three and four-bedroom configurations with two-bedroom townhomes designed for first homebuyers starting at $524,900.

Buyers have been a mix of first homebuyers and downsizers, keen on low-maintenance and secure living, at an affordable price that will enable them to retain a nest egg for retirement.

Jinding Managing Director of Developments Dr Andrew Ashwood said construction commencement marked an exciting milestone for the community and future residents eager to move into their homes.

Harriott townhome purchaser Riley Redford, 26, of Wandana Heights, demonstrates the flexibility and appeal of townhomes. Riley purchased a four-bedroom townhome in January and is converting one of the bedrooms into his dream walk-in-robe.

“I currently have three wardrobes and I really need to consolidate. I figured I’d have to build my own house to get what I want, so the Harriott townhomes were an easy decision,” he said.

“I’ll be building a custom walk-in-robe when I move in, with a custom built-in bench in the middle and a bench seat under the window. It’s going to be incredible. I also have visions to create a laundry chute out of my pantry to make life even easier.”

A suit aficionado, Riley collects suit jackets and likes to debut a new look at the many events he attends as Chief Financial Officer for a technology company.

“I’m an impulsive person—I’d been looking for a month, then I saw the townhouses at Harriott and just went for it,” he said.

“I like that Harriott is not far from Barwon Heads and the water—I’m such a beach person—I love on a freezing cold day you jump in and it’s so refreshing.”
