10 April 2024

Goodman Group together with its joint venture partner, Brickworks, today broke ground on a new Amazon fulfilment centre at Oakdale East Industrial Estate, Horsley Park.

The new purpose built centre, spanning 60,000 square metres with an additional 20,000 square metre mezzanine, will be capable of holding up to 1.6 million large items such as garden equipment, furniture and flat screen TVs.

This state-of-the-art facility expands Amazon Australia’s operational footprint in Western Sydney, providing customers with wider selection and faster delivery.

Goodman’s investment of over $500 million in local infrastructure and nearly $7 billion in property highlights our commitment to western Sydney.

Jason Little, CEO Australia, Goodman Group said “Today we’re not only announcing job creation, but we’re also recognising the result of great collaboration with planning authorities and administrators to boost the Western Sydney economy. Goodman has invested significantly in the area, and this development extends Goodman’s infrastructure spend in the Western Sydney employment area to more than $500 million. Most importantly, we’re providing our customer Amazon, with the essential infrastructure it needs to expand and help meet growing consumer needs in Western Sydney and beyond.”

The construction and fit-out phases are expected to generate 3,000 new jobs, contributing significantly to the local economy.

Practical completion is targeted for July 2025.
