GDI Provides Leasing Update in Perth

2 August 2019

GDI Property Group announced this week that that the Minister for Works has signed two binding heads of agreement to occupy 14,522sqm of office accommodation at 141 St Georges Terrace, Perth (Westralia Square). The Westralian Australian Police Force (WAPOL) has agreed to lease 12,689sqm over levels 1-5, 8 and 9 at Westralia Square for a period of five years commencing 1 February 2021, and Births Deaths and Marriages (BDM) has agreed to a new six-year lease for 1,833sqm over level 10, also commencing on 1 February 2021. The existing leases over 25,664sqm with the Minister of Works will be varied, largely to facilitate WAPOL’s relocation within Westralia Square from the upper levels to the lower levels, and the departure of the Department of Justice. GDI also advises it anticipates that United Group Limited will depart levels 17 and 18 on its lease expiry in January 2020. Mr Steve Gillard, Managing Director of GDI, stated that securing WAPOL and BDM for new leases at Westralia Square was an outstanding outcome for GDI. “We are pleased that WAPOL and BDM have agreed to continue their association with Westralia Square. With most of the lower levels now committed, other than the fittedout level 7, we look forward to releasing the upper levels in to the improving Perth market once they become available during 2020.” #GDI
