Luxury furniture retailer to open new Fortitude Valley showroom on August 1
Luxury Australian furniture retailer Casa Blanco has made a bold design statement with its first move into the Queensland market.
The family-run business has taken a lease on a 1112sqm site in Homemaker the Valley at 650 Wickham St with prime street exposure.
According to JLL Office Leasing Executive Zac Hyams, who negotiated the deal with Cushman & Wakefield Senior Sales & Leasing Executive Jack Neuman, part of the site’s appeal was its impeccable location.
“The team at Casa Blanco were very specific about how and where they wanted to launch in Brisbane,” Mr Hyams said.
“They saw Fortitude Valley as the ideal location, noting its proximity to contemporary precincts such as James Street and Gasworks, along with its ease of access.
“In Homemaker the Valley they found a site which enjoys an incredible position by virtue of the sheer volume of traffic that passes through the intersection with Ann Street and Skyring Terrace – day and night, weekday and weekend.
“This also underscored the importance of signage, which was a key drawcard in the deal, while there is also plenty of parking.”
The whole-of-building site – incorporating two storeys and a mezzanine – has been undergoing refurbishment, with doors scheduled to open on August 1.
For Casa Blanco Co-founder Davin Glick, the Queensland play is critical for the company’s future success.
“During the past few years, as Brisbane’s population has continued to boom, we’ve seen a variety of high-prestige local and international brands establish a bricks-and-mortar presence in the city,” Mr Glick said.
“This has been complemented by a growing sophistication in the city’s retail and commercial scene, typified by the growth and popularity of precincts such as James St.
“With a runway to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, there are a range of big-ticket infrastructure projects that are going to bring about significant transformation to the capital. “We’re excited to be part of the city’s evolving story.”
