Construction Commences on New 100-Place Early Learning Centre at Yallarah, Echuca 

Construction is officially underway on a new 100-place early learning centre at Yallarah, Echuca’s largest masterplanned community, with developer Wel.Co commencing works on the new facility to provide greater access to early learning for local families. 

Campaspe Shire is home to over 5,400 families, according to the 2021 Census, with continued residential growth expected to drive demand for early learning and childcare services across the region. 

The new 100-place early learning centre at Yallarah will add significant capacity within Echuca’s western growth corridor, where Yallarah alone is planned to deliver more than 2,000 new homes. 

Yallarah Project Sales Manager Lerreace Camenzuli said the new centre marked an important milestone for the growing community and would help support the needs of both existing and future families. 

“A new early learning centre within Yallarah will provide valuable additional childcare capacity for local families, making quality early learning more convenient for residents in Yallarah and families across the broader Echuca community,” said Lerreace. 

The construction milestone builds on Wel.Co’s broader vision for Yallarah as a community where residents can live close to the services, open spaces and amenities they need as the region continues to grow. 

Around 30 hectares of Yallarah will be dedicated to green open space, with a green spine connecting the community’s three precincts through wetlands and parklands. Residents will also have access to walking and cycling paths, three playgrounds, exercise stations, a dog park, basketball and netball courts, a skate park and barbecue facilities. 

Founder and Managing Director of Wel.Co Andrew Welsh said delivering community infrastructure alongside new housing was central to the vision for Yallarah. 

“Yallarah is being designed as more than a place to build a home. Our focus is on creating a connected community that supports residents through different stages of life and provides families with access to the amenities they need close to home. 

“The new early learning centre is an important part of that vision and will provide valuable additional capacity as Yallarah and the broader Echuca community continue to grow,” said Andrew. 

The centre is expected to open in mid-2027. Once complete, Yallarah will span 213 hectares and deliver more than 2,000 homes, alongside $27 million in major infrastructure.
