Colliers has appointed Marshall Smith as Associate Director, Queensland within the Office Capital Markets & Investment Services team further enhancing the firm’s national capability at a time of growth.
Marshall joins Colliers from JLL, bringing seven years of commercial real estate experience with a strong focus on capital markets transactions and advisory. His appointment reflects Colliers continued investment in specialist expertise and its commitment to strengthening its market-leading Office Capital Markets & Investment Services platform across Australia.
Based in Brisbane, Marshall will work alongside Sam Arkell, focusing on growing the firm’s office capital markets presence. Brisbane remains a key priority growth region for Colliers, particularly as the city prepares to host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Matthew Meynell, Managing Director, Office Capital Markets & Investment Services | Australia said, “Marshall’s expertise and established relationships across Brisbane’s capital markets landscape make him an exceptional addition to our Queensland team. Over the past year, we have continued to invest in our national Office Capital Markets & Investment Services platform, making strategic hires across key growth markets. We are attracting high-calibre experts who recognise the opportunity to build and lead within Colliers’ collaborative and enterprising culture.”
Marshall Smith, Associate Director, Capital Markets | Queensland, said, “I am pleased to be joining Colliers at a time of strong growth and renewed investor confidence, particularly with the re-emergence of institutional capital in the Brisbane office market. The depth of sector expertise and strong culture of collaboration were compelling factors in making the move.”
Adam Woodward, Head of Office Capital Markets | Australia said “Colliers is positioning itself as the office sector is poised for a resurgence in transaction activity in 2026. With the sector expected to outperform others across the investment horizon, now is the time for investors to position strategically and capture the upside of this evolving cycle. Marshall’s appointment in Queensland forms part of our broader national growth strategy.”
Reflecting the renewed confidence in Brisbane’s office market, last year Colliers transacted Green Square South Tower for over $100 million, which at the time of sale represented the first insitutional-grade transaction outside the Brisbane CBD since 2022.
Colliers’ national Office Capital Markets & Investment Services team remains the largest in the market, now comprising 109 experts across 19 offices. Under Matthew Meynell’s leadership, strategic and targeted hiring over the past year has enhanced its capacity to meet client demand and broaden its national coverage.
