Coastal resort sells to growing hospitality group

Townsville’s seafront Seagulls Resort has been sold by Leon Alaban, National Director Hotels at Savills Australia, reflecting the increased demand for assets in North Queensland.

Located at 74 The Esplanade in the inner coastal suburb of Belgian Gardens, the privately owned and operated business boasts three and a half acres of lush tropical gardens and overlooks Rowes Bay and Magnetic Island. It is close to Townsville’s key attractions, located a short five minute drive from the city centre and Townsville airport.

The city is the largest commercial centre in North Queensland and is serviced by the airport, a large shipping port, the coastal railway and the Bruce Highway making accessibility very easy. It is also a major tourism gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, the Wet Tropics and the Queensland Outback.

Seagulls Resort was sold on behalf of College House Pty Ltd after owning the property for almost seven (7) years, before Redhill Hospitality snapped it up.

The Resort offers strong trading upside potential for Redhill Hospitality, with its substantial landholding and favourable zoning.

With large amounts of infrastructure and planning, Townsville’s 2020 masterplan has set a clear vision for economic growth through new investment and greater tourism enhancing the city.

The addition of Seagulls Resort will strengthen the group’s portfolio of nine regional motel assets across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
