20 May 2025
The Buxton Real Estate Group is proud to announce the acquisition of Cayzer Real Estate, marking a major expansion into the Port Phillip municipality with the addition of a new office in Albert Park.
With over 16-years of experience in the Port Phillip property market and offices already in Port Melbourne, St Kilda and Elwood; Buxton’s presence will now grow to include the prominent Albert Park location. The acquisition brings together two respected brands—each with a deep understanding of the local market and a strong alignment in values, service philosophy and community engagement.
Strengthening Local Expertise and Market Position
As a part of the phased transition, Buxton Port Melbourne will relocate into Cayzer’s larger premises at 370 Bay Street, becoming Buxton / Cayzer Port Melbourne. While the second Cayzer office at 330 Montague Street will re-brand as Buxton / Cayzer Albert Park. Both locations will operate under this co-branded entity for the next 6–12 months; planned to ensure continuity for all clients.
The strategic move bolsters Buxton’s presence in Port Phillip, enhancing its multi-office network and reach into surrounding suburbs. With a focus on the middle-to-upper property market the expanded office network positions Buxton / Cayzer as the dominant force in the region.
Managing Directors Matthew Young and Arthur Apostoleros from Buxton Port Phillip, both share the vision behind the merger – “Our goal in acquiring Cayzer was to expand our market share and elevate our offering across Port Phillip. Cayzer’s strong client base and respected brand identity make them a natural fit for our Business. By solidifying our presence in Albert Park, we’re ensuring our clients continue to receive exceptional service from Agents who know the area inside and out.”
The transition brings together a combined team of over 50-professionals across four offices, specialising in both sales and property management.
A Full-Circle Moment for Geoff Cayzer
For Geoff Cayzer, Founder of Cayzer Real Estate, the move is both personal and professional. “In successfully merging my business with Buxton, a company I’ve long admired, represents the coming together of the best of both worlds. Buxton’s progressive approach, combined with the history and values that built Cayzer, ensures my legacy continues with integrity and care. It’s a full-circle moment for me, having started my career at Buxton, I couldn’t imagine a better home for the business and our clients going forward.”
Preserving Community Connections
A long-standing pillar of Cayzer’s success has been its unwavering support for local schools, kindergartens, sports clubs, and community initiatives across Port Phillip. This tradition of giving back has been central to Cayzer’s brand and will continue to expand under Buxton / Cayzer stewardship.
A Seamless Transition with Shared Values
The acquisition has been carefully planned to ensure a smooth merger that prioritises Cayzer’s long-standing landlords and property clients. With both businesses deeply rooted in the Port Phillip municipality and aligned in culture, the transition has been intentionally designed to feel seamless for our clients and the Buxton / Cayzer Real Estate team.
For Matthew and Arthur – this is more than just a change in office signage. Arthur adds, “It’s about combining two trusted brands to elevate the client experience and to create stronger outcomes through shared knowledge, resources, and vision.”
A Vision for the Future
Marcus Williams, CEO of the Buxton Real Estate Group, reinforced the strategic importance of the acquisition:
