Aware Super Rebrands Sydney Metro Airports

30 November 2022

The organisation which owns and operates both Bankstown Airport, its surrounding precinct, and Camden Airport, previously known as Sydney Metro Airports has now become Aeria Management Group.

The airport group was acquired in 2015 by one of Australia’s leading super funds, Aware Super. The rebranded organisation is continuing the transformation of over 300ha, which is home to Bankstown Airport, a growing aviation, business and community destination supporting hundreds of operators including aviation and emergency services, logistics, industrial and commercial enterprises, entertainment, recreation, leisure and retail.

CEO of Aeria Management Group, Daniel Jarosch is looking forward to the many future opportunities this change represents “Our vision is to create a thriving, diverse destination that connects aviation, business and community and we are proud to have a new name that reflects that, gives a sense of place as we continue on our exciting journey to become the ultimate gateway.”

South West Sydney’s premier aviation hubs, Bankstown Airport and Camden Airport, will retain their names and airport designator codes but both have new logos and physical upgrades to reflect their place in the bright future of general aviation in Australia.

New wayfinding will be introduced in coming months to enhance wayfinding to the state emergency and essential operators at Aeria including NSW POLAIR, Toll Ambulance Rescue NSW, Royal Flying Doctors, Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS), Little Wings and a diverse general aviation offering – including flight charter, flying training, small to medium air freight, aircraft sales and maintenance.

Senior Portfolio Manager – Property, Alek Misev applauding the exciting milestone in the airports’ evolution, “This is just the latest example of the outstanding value and strong returns we deliver for our members through investment opportunities which can also contribute to the communities in which our 1.1 million members live, work and retire.”

“We are excited to see Aeria Management Group’s destinations deliver new opportunities for the South West and the aviation industry as a whole.”

An upgraded passenger terminal, new café and management office on Airport Avenue are some of the many transformations signalling the arrival of Aeria. This adds to the premium industrial facilities continuing to be delivered at Altitude, a premier industrial estate to the south of Aeria along Milperra Road – new home to Beijer Ref, Hellman Worldwide Logistics, eStore Logistics, Sydney Freezers and Allied Express – and delivered in partnership with Altis Property Partners, a Barings Company, as investment and development manager.

More exciting development projects are to be announced early in 2023 providing more opportunities to everyone who calls Aeria and Bankstown Airport home including the surrounding community. The new Master Plan includes the entire Aeria precinct growing to contribute over $1.6bn and 10,000 jobs to the NSW economy each year.
