Apartment Living Reaches New Heights with $120 Million Parkline Development Topping Out
20 June 2025
L to R: Andrew Warren, Multiplex SA State Manager, Mr Louis Kanellos, Chasecrown Project Architect and The Hon Nick Champion, Minister for Housing and Urban Development.
Completion of Chasecrown’s $120 million Parkline residential development at Kent Town is a step closer with the project reaching topping out stage today (June 19) just a year after construction commenced.
The 12-storey, 61 luxury apartment building is already 80 per cent sold, with the release of the penthouse and sub-penthouse sky homes on the higher levels expected to be snapped up quickly.
It will also incorporate 1200m2 of premium commercial space along with an entry lounge and residents multi-use space to cater for meetings, co-working and larger events.
Parkline will add to the much-needed supply of new homes close to the city, and with many of the buyers downsizing, it will also help bring additional established family homes onto the market.
Today’s topping-out ceremony celebrated Parkline reaching its maximum height of 43 metres and completion of the building’s structural framework and signals the transition into the final phases of construction.
It also showcased the magnificent, sweeping views future residents will enjoy, with Parkline overlooking the parklands, CBD and benefiting from sweeping views towards the coast and Adelaide Hills.
Award-winning global construction firm Multiplex has led construction on the Kent Town site.
A 136-metre Tower Crane has been onsite since July last year and has completed more than 18,600 lifts to reach this milestone, with construction works also including:
- 150,000 labour hours;
- 1,949 Curtain and Window Wall façade panels;
- 620 tonnes of reinforcement/structural steel;
- 32 suspended slab pours over 12 storeys; and
- 6000m3 cubic metres of concrete (Approximately 750 truckloads)
Construction of Parkline is on-track for completion in December with the first residents moving in shortly afterwards.
Attributable to Chasecrown Director and Project Architect, Mr Louis Kanellos:
“It was exciting to see our vision come to life, taking full advantage of Parkline’s location on the city-fringe with uninterrupted views across the city and suburbs towards the coastline and Adelaide Hills.
“Parkline has been designed to respond to the evolving needs of contemporary urban living in Adelaide.
“With a focus on sustainability, comfort and community, the design integrates carefully considered materials, generous natural light and thoughtfully curated spaces.
“Reaching this milestone is testament to the dedication of the entire team, our consultants, and our construction partners, Multiplex.
“As we shift our focus to the interiors and final details, we remain committed to delivering a building that feels like home and reflects the ambition and care that has driven the project.”
Attributable to Multiplex SA State Manager Andrew Warren:
“We are proud to be delivering Parkline Kent for luxury local developer Chasecrown. The recent top-out is an important milestone for the project and we are excited to celebrate as works continue to progress on-site.
“What drives our teams to outperform are the collaborative partnerships we build with our clients, communities, and each other.
“This project is a great example of Multiplex harnessing best practice solutions while working closely with Chasecrown and our subcontractors on a quality product.”
Attributable to The Hon Nick Champion, Minister for Housing and Urban Development:
“The topping out of Parkline marks a significant milestone in delivering more high-quality homes close to the heart of Adelaide. Projects like this are vital as we work to increase housing supply.
“Developments like this not only boost our housing supply but also invigorate local communities and support a vibrant urban lifestyle.”
The all-electric building is capable of net zero operation, thanks to a 7-star average apartment energy rating and a power system that can avoid the use of fossil fuels for heating, cooling, hot water and cooking appliances.
Other environmentally responsive design initiatives include a naturally ventilated carpark with ‘green walls‘ to reduce energy consumption; an extensive solar array supporting the building’s communal energy consumption; infrastructure supporting individual electric vehicle charging stations; and home automation options.
Mr Kanellos says Chasecrown is also investing in the public realm around the Kent Town project by removing power lines to King William Street, activating the street frontages and laneways with high-quality landscaping, and green walls.
“We placed a high value on contributing to the ongoing regeneration of Kent Town and recognition of the precinct’s local character and proximity of the city,” he says.
