ALAND Set to Bring End-to-End Expertise to Blue-Chip North Sydney Address

Following news of its acquisition of 173–179 Walker Street and 11–17 Hampden Street, North Sydney in June, leading multidisciplinary development and construction company ALAND has now unveiled a first glimpse of its plans for the site. 

The project will be known as The Walden, in a clever play on the street names Walker and Hampden, and aims to deliver an elevated urban living experience within a nearly 4,000sqm precinct, conveniently located just moments from the Victoria Cross Metro Station. 

As a luxury residential development featuring one, two, three and four-bedroom residences spread across 30 storeys, plus a penthouse collection, The Walden will capitalise on the site’s front-row position on the eastern fringe of the North Sydney CBD, which offers uninterrupted Sydney Harbour views stretching from the Sydney Harbour Bridge all the way to Sydney Heads. 

This will be flanked by a dedicated four-storey amenity building known as ‘The Pavilion’, offering exclusive resident-only amenities such as a dedicated concierge service, a sauna and private wellness studio, a gymnasium and fitness studio, a resort-style rooftop pool and sundeck, a residents’ lounge, intimate private dining and a wine cellar, while The Walden’s residents will also have access to co-working facilities and an on-site meeting room and boardroom. 

The Walden has been designed by leading architecture and interiors firm Rothelowman. 

Significantly, The Walden marks a step into the North Shore luxury market for ALAND, with a first project in North Sydney, according to ALAND Founder Andrew Hrsto

Structural demolition of existing structures on The Walden site has already commenced through specialist civil contractor Moits, with the aim of completing preparatory ground works by the end of 2025, ahead of construction commencement in early 2026.
