After international interest Warroo Orchard has sold to Wollemi Farms Pty Ltd

After a huge amount of interest, Colliers Queensland has transacted Warroo Orchard, the home of the Queen Garnet Plum, to Wollemi Farms Pty Ltd.

Sold by Colliers Agribusiness agents Rawdon Briggs and Phillip Kelly on behalf of Bim Goodrich and The Goodrich Fruit Company Pty Ltd, the sale of Warroo Orchard, located 66 kilometres west of Stanthorpe, was inclusive of the orchard and all facilities.

Colliers Head of Agribusiness Rawdon Briggs said displaying optimism in the longer term potential of the Queen Garnet Plum the orchard would be leased back from Wollemi Farms by the Goodrich family.

β€œBoth parties are excited about the opportunity and look forward to working together to continue producing the Queen Garnet Plums,” Rawdon Briggs said.

β€œThis deal offered a unique opportunity to be part of the expanding global ‘super food’ market through the established Good Rich Food Company.

β€œThe sale included 60 hectares of established Queen Garnet Plums, all facilities, operational plant, ongoing management and plant varietal rights and recently upgraded irrigation water access and systems, providing full water security.

Colliers Queensland Senior Executive Agribusiness Phillip Kelly said the property first went to market through an expressions of interest process which closed early June in 2022.

β€œThe property received around 50 initial enquiries with interest from local, national and international investors, with 16 parties proceeding to further consideration resulting in 2 final bidders,” Phillip Kelly said.

β€œUltimately Wollemi Farms, which is an investment platform managed by Gunn Agri Partners, was successful in securing this unique offering, providing them a foothold in the superfoods industry.”

The Warroo Orchard is located on Soldiers Settlement Road via the Stanthorpe-Inglewood Road, Queensland.

The property is accessible via bitumen sealed and formed gravel roads and positioned 66km west of Stanthorpe and 273km southwest of Brisbane.
