ULTRA Queensland appointed as construction and delivery partner
National property developer Goldfields has commenced construction on 88 Robertson – a $280m, 16-storey A-Grade commercial office development located in the heart of the James Street precinct. Australian-owned and operated construction firm ULTRA Queensland has been appointed builder and delivery partner for the project.
Brisbane Central Ward councillor, Cr. Vicki Howard, officiated the celebration of 88 Robertson’s milestone achievement alongside the development and construction teams at a ceremonial ‘turning of the first sod’ held on site earlier today.
88 Robertson will bring together 17,000sqm of boutique office space, premium end-of-trip facilities, dedicated levels of serviced office and wellness offerings, and landscaped outdoor wintergardens.
A key feature of the premium commercial tower will be its elevated rooftop dining and events space set high above Brisbane offering spectacular views across the Brisbane River, the CBD, and Mt Coot-tha.
88 Robertson is the second Goldfields project to commence construction in Brisbane in as many months, with its Milton-based luxury apartment tower, Quartet, breaking ground in August bringing its built form pipeline to in excess of $450m.
Goldfields’ Chief Executive Officer, Lachlan Thompson, said 88 Robertson builds on the experience gained through the development of its Melbourne headquarters, Goldfields House, while creating a new workplace specifically shaped for Brisbane.
“Workplaces have changed fundamentally. Businesses are no longer looking simply for a floorplate – they are looking for environments that help their people connect, perform, and enjoy being at work,” Mr Thompson said.
“With 88 Robertson, we’ve taken the lessons from Goldfields House and adapted them to Brisbane, bringing together workplace performance with the hospitality, wellness, culture, and outdoor lifestyle that make the James Street precinct so distinctive.
“Our ambition is to create a workplace that feels genuinely connected to its location – one that makes the most of Brisbane’s subtropical climate and gives businesses a more considered experience for their people, from the moment they arrive to the end of the working day.
“88 Robertson is the second Goldfields project to be delivered in partnership with ULTRA, with our luxury residential tower, The Bryson in Chatswood, NSW, nearing completion to exacting standards of quality.
“ULTRA’s proven track record of delivering high-quality projects, combined with Goldfields’ experience in delivering premium, lifestyle-led commercial assets, will ensure 88 Robertson becomes a highly sought-after office address.”
ULTRA Managing Director, Adrian Sicari, said ULTRA is excited by the opportunity to work with Goldfields to bring a new standard of A-Grade workplace accommodation to the Brisbane office market.
“We look forward to bringing to life Goldfields’ vision of a design-led workplace in one of Brisbane’s most sought-after urban precincts,” he said.
“88 Robertson will give Brisbane’s creative industries and professional service providers a progressive, next-generation office environment where ideas, collaboration, and culture seamlessly intersect with work and lifestyle.”
Goldfields will relocate its Brisbane office to 88 Robertson, reinforcing its confidence in the asset’s quality and its long-term role within the precinct.
Construction of 88 Robertson is scheduled for completion in Q3 2028.
