Frasers Property Australia has unveiled its newest masterplanned community in Queensland with the launch of Round Mountain, a nature-rich neighbourhood set to deliver 2,100 homes south-west of Brisbane over the next decade.
The 246-ha residential community at New Beith, encircling the base of Round Mountain, will be home to more than 6,300 people upon completion and bring much needed new housing supply within the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area.
Frasers Property Australia General Manager Development Queensland, Scott Ullman, said Round Mountain was designed to celebrate the unique natural environment, offering abundant green space within a connected community.
“Round Mountain will become a series of villages connected by a network of natural bushland surrounds, seasonal waterways and conservation areas that all lead to Round Mountain,” he said.
“Every aspect of the community is designed to complement the landscape, blending natural beauty and urban living with the mountain as the hero of this community, conveniently positioned between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
“Approximately 40% of the masterplan is dedicated to greenspaces, including neighbourhood parks, walking and biking trails, and preserved bushland corridors, and we’re targeting a 6-Star Green Star Communities Rating to ensure we protect and preserve the natural environment, while making everyday life more sustainable for residents.
“We look forward to partnering with our established network of trusted builders to bring this project to life over the next 10 years and expect to welcome our first residents in 2027.”
The first release comprises 45 lots ranging in size from 300 sqm to 720 sqm, with prices starting from $370,000.
Mr Ullman said future residents and the wider community would experience the benefits of the masterplan through planned infrastructure, sporting facilities and a community precinct.
“Proposed future stages include a retail and community precinct at the heart of the neighbourhood, placing residents closer to everyday conveniences with spaces to connect and unwind near their home.”
“We’re also significantly investing in infrastructure within the masterplan, from road upgrades to a new traffic bridge over the railway as a convenient entry point to the community.
“With a trail network, seasonal waterways and conservation areas, the community is designed to support residents to live an energetic and connected lifestyle.”
Frasers Property Australia has a more than 100-year history delivering communities across Australia, including masterplanned house and land communities in south-east Queensland like the nearby Brookhaven at Bahrs Scrub and The Quarry at Keperra on Brisbane’s north.
Mr Ullman said the inclusion of spaces that promote growth and foster connections between neighbours across the site had been informed by the leading developer’s 10-year journey at Brookhaven.
“You just have to look at Brookhaven to see the quality of communities we have delivered, and we’re coming full circle in this region with our latest project.
“Our learnings from Brookhaven have informed Round Mountain’s masterplan, making it a place with an innate sense of belonging,” he said.
The Logan City Council area, is experiencing rapid population growth with +139,500 new residents expected to move to the local government area by 2041, driving high demand for new housing in the region.
“We understand that families will appreciate Round Mountain’s natural setting, with its open spaces and scenic trails offering opportunities to explore and enjoy the outdoors together,” Mr Ullman said.
“Ahead of the launch, we’ve already received more than 1,000 enquiries from families looking to settle down in our scenic connected community.”
Located at New Beith, Round Mountain is 45km south of Brisbane and 70km north of the Gold Coast and is well connected to major south-east Queensland cities. The site is just 3km from Flagstone, positioning it close to established retail, education, health, transport and recreation amenities.
