Knight Frank has made a key appointment to its New South Wales Capital Markets team, with James Aroney joining as Partner, Institutional Sales.
Based in Knight Frank’s Sydney Angel Place office, James will work closely with Rob Sewell, who joined Knight Frank last year as National Head of Institutional Sales, and with Knight Frank’s NSW Capital Markets team including Jonathan Vaughan.
James has more than 40 years of experience in commercial real estate, across investment sales, development sites and major CBD transactions.
He moves to Knight Frank from JLL but has previously had long-held roles at LJ Hooker and CBRE.
James has negotiated significant transactions including for major commercial assets, development sites and landmark CBD buildings, including 100 Harris Street in Pyrmont ($328 million), 59 Goulburn Street in Sydney ($270 million), 19 Harris Steet in Pyrmont ($185 million), 210-220 George Street in Sydney ($160 million), and 139 Macquarie Street in Sydney ($132.95 million).
Knight Frank Head of Capital Markets Australia Michael Kwok said James’s appointment would strengthen the firm’s national Capital Markets capability.
“James’s deep experience across Sydney fringe, CBD, metropolitan markets and development sites, combined with his extensive network, makes him a strong addition to the team,” he said.
