Construction started today on a new $175 million retail centre at Munno Para West with the groundbreaking for a $60 million shopping centre, which will be home to a new Coles supermarket.

The new retail centre is part of the $400 million Tudor Vale residential and commercial project being undertaken by DC Developments. It includes more than 500 new homes, a 6,420m2 shopping centre and a 20,000m2 bulky goods precinct.

The Tudor Vale Shopping Centre will be anchored by a Coles supermarket which will include the full range of Coles market grocery offering, including fresh produce, bakery, deli and an undercover drive-thru Click & Collect service.

Other tenants in the shopping centre will include a Liquorland, Terry White Chemist, St George’s Bakery and multiple specialty shops. The shopping centre will also have more than 300 car parks including 4x EV charging stations.

More than 200 jobs will be created through the construction of the shopping centre, which is set to open by the end of next year.

Meanwhile, the broader Tudor Vale project continues to progress well with 156 of the 500 planned homes within the development already occupied or under construction, and a further 68 homes to be built by mid-2027. Work is also underway on the project’s parks 4.6 hectares of public reserves.

DC Developments Construction Director James Angus said the groundbreaking of the Tudor Vale Shopping Centre marked a significant milestone for the project.

“We are creating a retail and shopping centre that will not only benefit Tudor Vale residents but will be a drawcard and community hub for people living in the rapidly growing northern suburbs,” said Mr Angus.

“We are delighted with the confidence Coles has demonstrated in the project by investing in a brand- new world-class supermarket for this growing area North of Adelaide.

“We have attracted other valuable tenants and continue to have interest from other potential tenants.”

Coles Regional Manager, Annie Worden, said the new Coles will provide a convenient shopping experience for the local community, whether they choose to shop in-store or online.

“At Coles we are constantly evaluating our store network to ensure we are delivering the best shopping experience for our customers, and we are excited about delivering a new supermarket as part of the Tudor Vale Shopping Centre development,” Ms Worden said.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Coles to deliver an enhanced shopping experience for customers in Tudor Vale.”

Nick Champion, Minister for Housing and Urban Development said we have supercharged growth in housing in Adelaide’s north.

“With that growth comes the need for growth in amenities and community infrastructure,” said Minister Champion.

“I commend DC Developments for their investment with the Tudor Vale Retail Centre.”

City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said it’s great to see this private investment in Munno Para West.

“Sustainable growth requires more than new homes,” said Mayor Docherty.

“This investment provides jobs, new retail offerings and services close to home, in one of South Australia’s fastest growing communities.”
