New Kingston Shopping Centre 85% Leased

Developer Tipalea Partners has announced its new $60 million Spring Farm Village neighbourhood retail centre in Kingston is already 85% pre-leased – as contractor Fairbrother reaches midway on its construction.

Expected to complete by mid-2026, Spring Farm Village is prominently located opposite Bunnings on the Channel Highway.

The 7,000-square-metre neighbourhood retail centre will bring exciting new retailers and increased competition to Kingston, with a full-line Coles supermarket and Chemist Warehouse’s first superstore in the region.

Just six months out from completion, Fairbrother are progressing rapidly at Spring Farm Village as the base build and interior fitout works continue to advance. Early in 2026, they will hand over 18 specialty stores to tenants for their individual fitouts, with carpark construction beginning in January.

“We are so proud to reach this leasing milestone so early, with limited shops remaining available. The demand we are seeing from retailers shows just how much this community is crying out for more convenience shopping. These retailers have been quick to see our vision and the potential for Spring Farm Village, backed by the strong population growth of the surrounding catchment suburbs,” said James Brake, Senior Development Manager of Tipalea Partners.

“The tenant mix is a great balance and will offer optimum convenience to the community, with everything they need under one roof. Tenants include food and beverage outlets plus a range of service providers such as medical and dental,” he said.

Research by Tipalea’s team highlights the critical need for more retail to service this rapidly growing community.

“Spring Farm Village’s catchment of around 60,000 people is projected to increase by more than 10% within the next 10 years. The region is one of the fastest-growing in Hobart,” said Scott Spanton, CEO of Tipalea Partners.

As well as Coles and Chemist Warehouse, a range of food retailers have been secured, including Parthenon Souvlaki Bar and Sushi Sushi.

Other service providers that have signed up for space at Spring Farm Village include Royal Automobile Club of Tasmania (RACT), Joe’s Fresh Meats, St Luke’s Dental and Spring Farm Medical.

Tipalea indicated it is also in advanced negotiations with a café & a barber tenant.
