Aussie backyard dream comes true at Celestino’s Jacaranda development in Glossodia

With many new homebuyers in Sydney settling for smaller lots or apartment living as a result of the city’s affordability pressures and limited land supply, Australian-owned private developer Celestino is making the dream of the big Aussie backyard come true in the Hawkesbury region, in the city’s north-west.

The first 24 lifestyle blocks at Jacaranda were released in late September 2025, featuring lots sized between 1,000 and 2,000sqm – and now, with a limited number of lots remaining, Celestino is gearing up for its second release.

Jacaranda’s larger lot sizes set it apart from most projects currently on the market in Western Sydney, and are proving a major drawcard for early buyers, with the community already attracting a mix of families and long-term locals seeking space and lifestyle.

One such purchaser, David Dawson, spent 10 years searching for the right location to build his dream home before finding Jacaranda, where he plans to live with his wife and three children.

“I was looking for a block that combined significant size with a relatively affordable price, while offering a manageable commuting distance to work,” explained Mr Dawson. “Unfortunately, this option really didn’t seem to exist in Sydney anymore, as typically one of those three considerations needs to be sacrificed – but thankfully Jacaranda strikes the perfect balance between them all.

Celestino’s Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Scard, says David’s experience – echoed by many others – shows the Australian dream of owning a family home on a generous quarter-acre block is still very much alive.
