Jinding Unveils New Armstrong Creek Parklands

Vibrant parkland featuring extensive green space, paths to meander along and a half court for basketball and netball, 670-metre fitness circuit and scooter pump track has opened at Armstrong Creek’s Harriott community.

The new $2.3 million Hilltop Park on Amphitrite Way spans more than 8000 square metres and merges active play and fitness spaces with retreat areas designed for relaxation and connection with nature.

Alongside swings, climbing structures, sandpit and other family-friendly features, one of the standout aspects of Harriott’s new parkland is an interactive and educational tribute to the region’s birdlife.

Harriott sits beside the protected Sparrovale Wetlands (Ngubitj yoorree in Wadawurrung language), a Ramsar-listed site of international significance for its role as a critical habitat for migratory birds.

Here, the play space brings to life the incredible journey of birds along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway, travelling from Siberia to Sparrovale. Thoughtful design elements reflect the diverse landscapes these birds encounter along the way, culminating at the play tower, where children can immerse themselves in reed-like structures with views that connect directly to the wetlands beyond.

Envisaged as a destination for locals throughout the area, the park was inspired by community consultation and built by Moolap firm BC Garden Construction, based on designs by Spiire, which has offices in Geelong and Melbourne.

Jinding National Development Director of Communities, Chris Ravat, said the park aimed to build community connection among Harriott’s residents and those living further afield.

“Great parks don’t just give people room to move, they create places where neighbours meet, friendships form and community thrives,” he said.

“The new Hilltop Park at Harriott is a vital community asset to support healthier, happier lives – physically, mentally and socially.

“We are very proud of the end result and the deep engagement from the local community when it came to outlining their priorities in this new green space. We hope we have created parklands they can be proud of.”

Harriott is one of Armstrong Creek’s most successful new communities with approximately 90 per cent of land lots released to market to date now sold out.

Ultimately, Harriott will feature 464 homes and 164 townhomes, set alongside the Sparrovale Wetlands.

Jinding is currently offering $40,000 off its final two acreage lots, and $25,000 off select conventional lots. At the same time, construction has commenced on the first 45 of 164 townhouses, marking an exciting new chapter in the community’s growth.
