Property at 936 Stanley Street, East Brisbane

Expansion goal realised with purchase of high-exposure creative office and showroom

A national furniture business has snapped up a warehouse-style office in a prime inner-Brisbane location for $4.05 million.

JLL Metropolitan Sales & Investments brokers Ryan Shepherd and Sam Richards have sold 936 Stanley Street, East Brisbane after a competitive Expressions of Interest campaign.

The high-exposure asset comprises approximately 645sqm of creative office and showroom space across two levels, along with a corner retail tenancy that provides valuable holding income.

“Ideally positioned along one of the inner south’s busiest arterial roads, the property benefits from prominent triple street frontage,” Mr Shepherd said.

“Its character-filled interiors, complete with exposed beams and timber floors, give it a New York loft feel that resonated with buyers seeking something unique.”

Mr Richards highlighted the property’s convenient location within walking distance of the soon-to-be-completed Cross River Rail Woolloongabba Station and vibrant mix of cafes, restaurants, bars, and convenience retail.

“The campaign received strong interest from buyers looking to get a foothold in such a desired and well-serviced location,” he said.

“The property appealed to owner-occupiers in particular due to its high-quality features, including an expansive open-plan office space, an inviting showroom, dedicated storage rooms, a spacious kitchen, and well-appointed amenities.”

The buyer was Krost Business Furniture, an established national business with its eyes now set on Brisbane.

Business owner Tyron Krost said the property was the perfect fit for what had been a long-standing growth and expansion goal.

“The property’s high exposure and unique character immediately caught our attention. The existing space provides an ideal foundation to create an exciting, purpose-built Krost furniture showroom,” he said.

“Expanding into Brisbane is a key strategic goal. With the city’s significant growth and the clear potential we see in the Queensland commercial furniture market, now is the right time to make our move.”

Mr Krost said the business had been carefully monitoring the Brisbane market for the past four years, waiting for the perfect opportunity.

“It was crucial for us not merely to find a space, but to establish a unique destination showroom distinct from established hubs. This property allows us to achieve that vision,” he said.

“We envision this site becoming a premier commercial furniture destination for Brisbane later this year, mirroring the success of our flagship showrooms in Sydney’s and Melbourne. The space will be transformed into a state-of-the-art environment showcasing our full range of commercial solutions.”
