Rare Opportunity to Acquire Kingsford Property with Rich History
29 April 2025
A multipurpose commercial building in Kingsford, owned by journalist and businessman Pedr Davis, has been listed for sale for the first time since it was built in 1964.
Located at 155a Bunnerong Road, the 589sqm property is being marketed by CBREâs Luke Williams who said the building has a rich history as the home to several local businesses over the years.
âIt was bought for ÂŁ3500 pounds, approximately $7000, and Pedr and his wife Dolores engaged architects Oser Fombertaux & Associates to produce a simple, elegant building that could be put to multiple uses,â Mr Williams explained.
Vendor Pedr Davis said while internal alterations have been made over the years the external features of the 410sqm building had changed very little, and the original plans and concept sketches will be passed on to the new owner.
âI have a lot of fond memories of the building and of Kingsford too. I hope someone buys the site and does something really interesting with it,â Mr Davis added.
With a street level space that could be used as offices or retail and a basement opening onto a large carpark, the building was first home to a media agency and a pioneering statistical business that used one of the first privately owned IBM computers in the country. Other businesses included Accessory World, which sold automotive gadgets, a printing business, a design and engineering outfit, and a workshop for installing seatbelts.
The building was also once leased to a branch office of the Department of Youth and Community Services and more recently it was the site of a tiles and bathroom supplies business.
