
Construction on Tipalea Partnersā brand new $50 million Spring Farm Village has officially commenced, and Kingston locals will be shopping in the next-generation retail centre by the middle of next year.
The milestone was celebrated with a soil turning ceremony on site today with the Mayor of Kingborough, Cr Paula Wriedt in attendance along with numerous other VIPās including John Carrington, Coles Regional Manager for Tasmania and Paul Ransley, General Manager at Fairbrother.
Located opposite Bunnings on the Channel Highway in Kingston, Spring Farm Village is being constructed by leading Tasmanian contractor Fairbrother and will deliver over 7,500 square metres of retail space to this growing region.
Coles will open its largest supermarket in Kingston at Spring Farm Village, and it will also house Chemist Warehouseās first superstore in the region. A range of other specialty retailers including medical services, take away food and beauty services will complete the offering in the smart-tech centre.

Spring Farm Village is boosting local employment, creating more than 1,100 employment opportunities. This is welcome news for one of Hobartās fastest growing regions, with Kingstonās population is predicted to increase by 7,000 people in the next 10 years.

With construction now underway, Fairbrother are currently focused on retaining walls and levelling the site with attention soon to shift into footings, foundations, and in ground infrastructure for the shopping centre complex.
The state-of-the-art new retail centre has been designed by i2C Architects to serve the daily needs of the growing residential population from Huntingfield through to Margate and Snug, providing residents with greater competition, choice, and convenience. It is also set to be the most technologically-advanced and environmentally sustainable retail centre south of Hobart.
Spring Farm Village is set to become the new epicentre of the region, integrating cutting-edge sustainability features and innovative new technologies. These include EV charging stations, people counters, cloud-based CCTV throughout, duress intercoms, weather stations, free wi-fi, wireless charging stations, car counters and a building information dashboard.
With unrivalled connectivity and accessibility, Spring Farm Village will include over 350 easily-accessible car parks, including dedicated bays for mums & bubs, seniors and the disabled. Taxi and Uber food delivery bays along with EV charging stations will also be provided.
Tipalea Partners has been investing and creating jobs in Tasmania for over 15 years and Spring Farm Village marks the developerās sixth Tasmanian project. It is also developing Stony Rise Village in Devonport and delivered the highly successful Glebe Hill Village in Howrah in 2022.
