Booming Ipswich Region to Welcome Much Needed New Homes

Developers are making the most of the limited greenfield space left in Queensland’s fastest growing city to provide much needed housing support to a region that is experiencing a golden period of growth.
Atrio Property represents several property developers creating greenfield projects in Ipswich and the surrounding Western Brisbane corridor, including overseeing the development of Ripley View, situated in the Ripley Valley Priority Development Area (PDA).
On Friday 27 September, Atrio Property representatives, Ipswich City Council Mayor Teresa Harding and guests turned the sod on the first stages of this multimillion-dollar community, set to be part of one of Australia’s largest urban growth areas with a projected population of 131,000 people.
Atrio Property Managing Director – Chris Hall said the sod turning signalled a new era of living for those in the Ipswich area.
“We are thrilled to officially be kicking off work on this project which will deliver 511 lots to the burgeoning Ipswich region upon completion,” Mr Hall said.
“Development sites within the western corridor are largely spoken for, and we anticipate new project launches will be limited from 2026.”
Mr Hall said the interest shown by land developers nation-wide towards the region is unsurprising given the great appeal of the location.
“Ipswich is primed for future growth, forecast to double its population over the next twenty years and it’s easy to see why. There’s great connectivity to Brisbane via upgrades to the public transport network and Centenary Highway,” Mr Hall said.
“There’s also an array of employment opportunities, schools, entertainment precincts and medical precincts including the Ipswich Hospital and the Ripley Satellite Hospital.
“The Ipswich City Council 23-24 Annual report1 revealed Ripley and South Ripley to be among the top suburbs for additional population so the housing options that Ripley View will offer upon completion will play a crucial role in providing dwellings to the highly popular suburb.”
Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said that with new families flocking to the Ripley Valley to take advantage of the affordable lifestyle, the Ripley View development will deliver additional housing, parks and infrastructure for our growing community.
