Continued pressure on housing in Margaret River has triggered Spindrift’s early release of Stage 2 lots, with buyers eager to take advantage of the affordable entry point and picturesque surrounds.
Following the sell-out of Stage 1, the first release of Stage 2 features premium lots located next to the estate’s West Park with prices starting from $170,000.
Ranging in size from 361sqm-723sqm, the new release offers a diverse range of lot sizes and street frontages for families seeking the perfect block to build their dream home.
The Spindrift estate is located 3km south of Margaret River and is surrounded by nature walks, beaches, and several of the nation’s finest wineries. Situated on 47ha of gently undulating land, the site is bordered by a developed community to the west, established Karri trees to the north and east, and expansive parklands within.
Gareth Wilson, Goldfields State Director in WA, said half of the lots in the first release of Stage 2 were purchased within the first week, confirming strong demand for affordably priced, spacious properties in Margaret River’s undersupplied housing market.
“Margaret River’s record low vacancy rate, soaring rents (up 29.8 per cent), surging population, and acute worker accommodation shortage were all driving strong demand from locals and Perth based investors,” Mr. Wilson said.
“The annual population growth rate in the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River has been double and sometimes triple the percentage growth rate recorded across Regional WA for the past decade (Source: ID Community).
“This has caused an acute housing shortage and thus a challenging rental market, leading those looking for a home to take a longer-term approach. We’re seeing a higher level of buyer confidence and enthusiasm as builder activity in the region increases, interest rates stabilise and popularity in Spindrift and the greater Margaret River area continue to grow.”
“Our diverse range of lots, intelligent design, quality amenity, and landscaped reserves make Spindrift lots highly sought after by those seeking a new family home or a regionally based, long-term investment.”
For parents Shannen and Harry Hick, Spindrift offered a rare opportunity to design and build a big family home in a vibrant regional town surrounded by nature.
“We’ve been looking for the right fit for our family across the South-West for some time and knew this was home as soon as we visited the estate,” said Shannen.
Margaret River local Victoria said she was drawn to Spindrift as it was affordable and nestled next to the Darch Trail – a stones-throw from town, schools, and only a ten-minute drive to her favourite beach.
Both new homebuyers were delighted with their purchases and are eager to move in as soon as their homes are complete.
Spindrift is centred on a strong sense of community, where residents can immerse themselves in nature while still enjoying the comforts and amenity of modern life.
With one of the world’s best wine regions on its doorstep and stunning beaches and coastal walks close by, Spindrift also offers all the amenities expected of a contemporary estate including immediate access to neighbouring parks and playgrounds, schools, shopping strips, cafes, restaurants, and medical facilities.
Lots in Stage 2 are expected to be titled in September 2024.
