Sustainability win for PortLink Industrial Estate

27 May 2022

Two facilities at PortLink Industrial Estate have been awarded a 5 Star Green Star – Design & As Built v1.2 rating by the Green Building Council of Australia, demonstrating Australian Excellence in environmental performance.

The facilities, occupied by Winning Group and Officeworks/Austpac, include a large list of sustainability features that contributed to this 5 Star achievement, including Solar PV systems, rainwater harvesting for landscape irrigation and toilet flushing, use of low volatile organic compounds (VOC) paints, recycling of construction materials, energy and water monitoring and end-of-life waste minimisation.

Steven Peters, Senior Manager of Sustainability says “We’re excited to be providing healthy, energy-efficient warehouses with significant operational cost savings for our customers. These ratings reflect an important shift in the way property is being designed and delivered and reinforce ISPT’s commitment to ESG excellence and positive social and environmental outcomes.”

ISPT has committed to targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating for all new facilities within the PortLink Logistics Estate and we’re working on securing certification for the four remaining facilities.

PortLink Logistics Estate is 14 km west of Melbourne CBD, 19 km south of Melbourne Airport and 9 km west of the Port of Melbourne.

The property has a total site area of 25.9 Ha and is positioned close to major arterial roads including the Princes Freeway and Western Ring Road and the Port of Melbourne.

There is an existing facility constructed in 2012 on the eastern side of Horsburgh Drive, providing a total lettable area of 2,164 sqm.
