A breathtaking 143-hectare private retreat-turned-tourist destination in the Perth hills will go under the hammer next month.

Burswood-based specialist property services firm Effective Property Solutions (EPS) has been exclusively engaged to sell the stunning and unique rural lifestyle property at 2346 Toodyay Rd in Gidgegannup.

Known as “Le Lake Retreat”, the picturesque space comprises 10 hectares of stunning lakes, a three-bedroom lakeside cabin, beaches, jetties, stunning landscaped semi-formal and ornamental gardens featuring 12 gazebos, multiple waterfalls, and a plethora of sculptures and artworks sourced from a UK studio.

EPS Head of Property Investments Ollie Salimi said the property – which also includes an office, sheds and equipment –was originally owned by Perth-based shopping centre magnate Michael Coleman.

“Mr Coleman created this masterpiece property over nearly two decades as a beloved private sanctuary and then, after being sold in 2019, it was opened to paying visitors to enjoy the spectacular grounds,” said Mr Salimi.

“With three kilometres of walkways winding through the property tucked quietly away in natural bushland in the hills, it’s perfect for bushwalking, kayaking, photo shoots, weddings and other functions.

“Le Lake Retreat is a magical botanical paradise offering a level of peace and tranquility that’s incredibly rare to find in a secluded valley just 40 minutes from the Perth CBD.”

Mr Salimi said EPS expected substantial interest in the property locally, nationally and internationally.

“From creating an extraordinary resort-style hotel, wellness or eco-retreat, event or function venue on the site to continuing to build it into a buzzing tourism destination, the possibilities for Le Lake Retreat are endless,” said Mr Salimi.

“Being a significant rural property, any building additions will only be subject to council approval.

“Of course, this one-of-a-kind property may also be snapped up by someone seeking to return it to its original purpose as a lake-filled, secluded haven for private family use.”

Nine large development lots with urban/rural zoning are also being sold by EPS, with a combined site area of more than 175 hectares.

An auction will be held on site at Le Lake Retreat on Friday March 21 at 11am WST.
