Billbergia Lodge final Stage of Wentworth Point Marina Development

2 November 2020

The final stage of Billbergia’s Wentworth Point Marinas Development is on public exhibition through the City of Parramatta Council.

The proposal continues Billbergia’s proven model of delivering social infrastructure in tandem with development, at no cost to government, through Voluntary Planning Agreements.

The current planning controls for the site were approved in 2012, (as part of the planning agreement for the privately funded Bennelong Bridge), and allow for residential development in buildings ranging in height up to 27 storeys. Under the current controls, Billbergia can develop 8 additional apartment buildings, and deliver 1-hectare of open space.

Billbergia is seeking approval to combine the approved space into 2 major buildings of 40 and 50 storeys containing an additional 600 residential units.

The proposal is supported by a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) that will provide $70 million in additional community benefits, including a a 2ha foreshore parkland, road infrastructure upgrades and contributions to traffic intersections, and a much needed public transport support through the Baylink Shuttle Service. Billbergia will also develop a community Pavilion and childcare centre and the possibility of a Waterfront recreational Facility or Multipurpose Indoor courts.

If approved, the apartments will be in fewer buildings on the site, along with major community parklands and almost three times the amount of public open space. The proposed buildings will be taller and thinner and carefully positioned on the site to enable the best views to be retained for as many residents as possible.

Billbergia has always delivered high levels of amenity and connectivity, which together sustain the social wellbeing of higher-density living.
The Bennelong Bridge, the Baylink Shuttle, public open space and green streets provide connectivity within and beyond the Town Centre.
